008: Well damn, that wasn't it.

12/29/09

What do you want first, the bad news or the good news? We'll do the good news first.

Good News: Alternator isn't the problem.

Bad News: Neither is the battery. So it's something in between.

What I got done:
More diagnosing on the alternator problem. Basically just inspected wires and checked voltages etc... Nothing exciting or really productive. Came back to the conclusion that everything was normal. I'll save the swear words until after I install the alternator and still can't figure out the charging problem. I'm hoping by some weird phenomenon, taking it off and putting it on solved all the problems. (That never happens.)

Pulled the Fuel pump relay to inspect it and figure out how I'm gonna wire the fuel pump switch. I still think I'm gonna break ground on the relay. Enough talk you say? I feel the same way.

I thought the car had a name. Going by previous methods of naming that I did for the Volvos, the name has to start with a B and have a vowel after it. I realized the name I chose didn't have a vowel after it. Yes, Jackson, 'R' is not a vowel. Hey, at least I didn't find that out the hard way like some people do on wheel of fortune. Anyway, Brooke is out, but it didn't meet the requirements from the beginning, so it's all good. ...Suggestions?

+$20 for paying alternator man to clean/inspect the alternator.

Total:
$676.
